Hello, my name is Aimee Chau. I received my Masters of Professional Communication from Westminster College in May 2016. I did my undergraduate degree at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and graduated in December 2013 with a B.A. in Public Communication and a minor in English.
I have 7 years in the restaurant industry, 2 years in the retail industry, 2 years in the payroll industry, and a big passion for making satisfied customers!
I thrive on learning new things, finding new ways to make work more efficient, and helping people organize and communicate better. I am looking for a career and company to call home and not just a job. I always try to put everything that I am into what I do and get everything out of what I do. I have taken each opportunity afforded to me as a chance to learn and grow. My biggest fear is being a “jack of all trades, master of none” although still better than a “master of one,” I really push myself to be the best in anything I choose to do. The best piece of work advice I have ever gotten was to find passion in what I do because it honestly turn a job into doing something you love. I know I am a lucky one in that every job I have held has been something that I have loved doing. I only hope that my next job is not a job but a career.
I have had invaluable experiences as a Payroll Specialist at Paychex; Management Trainee at Enterprises Holdings; Cashier/ Customer Service at Home Depot; and both Front of House and Back of House positions at a local Chinese Restaurant, Bo Lings in Kansas City, Missouri. I have also had the opportunity to serve on three life-changing internships on the Kansas City Youth Commission, Rachel Alexander Girls Grant Project, and the Northland Youth Leadership. Each experience molded me into who I am today and I am so grateful that I had the chance to learn so much.
I am also was a member of Alpha Sigma Alpha social sorority, Phi Sigma Pi honors fraternity, Campus Christian Fellowship, and Truman State Debate. I have volunteered with local food banks such as the La Plata Food Bank and North East Missouri Food Bank and also local animal shelters such as Best Friends Animal Society and West Valley Animal Shelter.
In my free time I really love adventuring, running, hiking, climbing, golfing, and trying new things.
